i read the sticky and came across a few post that said most the low mounts would work. my goal is to mount a leupold 6x36 vx-ii(1" tube)as close to the varmint contour barrel as possible on my stevens/savage equipped with a weaver 20moa rail. i do not expect someone to have same combination but maybe someone with enough experience can give me a little more precise answer.

i am still waiting on my barrel and do not have the scope yet either. i am trying to get this information so that i can entertain trading some stuff for the rings i need for the 6x36.

i did not search long for the answer so if you could provide a link for me to read that would be great.

thanks for your time.

I have always done the "Penny" measurement, then look up the dementions from the ring manufacture. I have a SB on my TRG. I will be happy to do some measurements if you need

yes, i would be interested in knowing those measurements if it is not much of an inconvenience to you. do not feel compelled to provide the results right away. this is not a time sensitive issue. if you are able to get me the measurements can you briefly list the other components; i.e. scope, base and rings you are using?
thank you for your time.
