Hi all,

I want to build a 16" bolt action rifle for suppressed hunting, both supersonic and subsonic. The 375 Raptor looks very interesting, and certainly looks like it would be fantastic with the big heavy pills.

-Does anyone have experience loading this cartridge supersonic?
-Are the loads on the 375raptor website reasonable, or are they running too hot, trying to promote the cartridge?
-Can the more common 230-260 grain .375 bullets be driven fast enough by a .308 parent case to get expansion, or do they need magnum velocities?

Thanks,
-pg

I would just point you here.

I personally love the cartridge! However I load for my 10.5" AR-10 so I rarely load supersonic ammo. Looking back I think load development would have been easier with a 12.5 or something close to that. The short barrel, with the combination of getting the AR-10 to cycle has been challenging at times, however it's not all that difficult.

I've gotten near 2000 FPS from my 10.5 with smaller bullets 235gr. Just not what I'm after with this build. I got what I wanted running 300gr bullets. I've ran as heavy as 350gr. Well best of luck, again I didn't build my SBR to run it fast bullets.
