I have used predator .338 caliber projectiles in the past and am considering building a rifle dedicated to shooting them in .375 caliber.
To keep costs down I am going to avoid the Snipe Tac and Chey Tac cases and rifles. The rifle I plan to build is going to be built on a Remington 700 action with a 30" barrel. The case I hope to use is a .375 RUM or .300 RUM case whichever has the most capacity. Do you think this a good idea?
I think that the case capacity of the RUM case will be large enough to obtain at least 2600 fps with the 350 grain bullet out of a 30" barrel. Do you think that this velocity is a
reasonable expectation from the RUM case? This should give some respectable down range performance with recoil that would be a lot milder than a SnipeTac..
The details of the bullets that I would like to shoot, show a B.C of .9 and a required twist rate of 1 : 12 for the 350 grain Predator Projectile. See... Predator Projectiles This seems a bit slow for a projectile with a B.C. of 0.9 Is this ideal or would a 1 : 9 or 1 : 10 be better?
