On optics with non-locking turrets, especially windage turrets, the idea is to prevent the torrent from contact with a bag or barricade which might cause them to roll, thus resetting your elevation or windage off call.

I’ve seen the turrets move off call during transition or rifle manipulation a lot, so this would be worth trying. If it works to prevent contact, it’d be a cheap and easy fix.

at first i thought it was a magnifying glass to better see the turret markings
