.45 bore, kinda of a crappy pic, did not want to focus properly

Cleaned up and installed ready to go, just waiting on some flip sights and a mount for my fastfire, came with 12 magazines, and a buffer and spring

Will do a range test after sights show up.

Re: .45 ACP Upper

Nice looking rifle. Are you planning on supressing it? I have always thought a 45 AR would be nice. I didn't know they were gas operated, I assumed they were recoil operated like the 9mm. About how much do you have in the rifle? Might be one of my future projects. Thanks Brandon

Re: .45 ACP Upper

Who's upper are you using? Never seen a gas operated one before....always blowback. I'd like to know what the recoil impulse is like with the gas-vs-blowback. What mag are you using in the lower? Almost looks like a PPs-43 mag. I'd be interested in the upper for my MGI modular lower. It uses greasegun mags for the .45 conversion.

Re: .45 ACP Upper

Yea, it is one of Rons, bought the upper from some one who bought it recently and had to let it go. Was beyond dirty when I got it. Pics are after a 2 hour clean up. Few years ago was going to supress a HK but changed mind. Might do in the future to this one but dont know how it will effect the gas system. It came with a magblock for the lower so you can use it for other projects other than a dedicated .45 and uses GG mags.

Re: .45 ACP Upper

Kurt was killed in an accident when he was struck by a car riding his motorcycle. His shop is closed. I have a Ron Williams gas operated 45acp upper on a CNC Guns AR-45 lower that uses grease gun mags. My setup runs great. One thing I did to help my upper run better was to use a reduced weight bolt carrier. Mine is a 16 inch upper and is very accurate out to 100 yds. Great for a pistol caliber.

Re: .45 ACP Upper

Any of you .45 upper owners ever run cast bullets? Since I have around 10K of these for my 1911s was just curious how they work in a 16" barrel. Of course will have to check feeding issues with the swc bullet, I use anything from 155s to 200s in cast
