Re: 454 casull or 460 smith and wesson?
I have three Freedom Arms Model 83s. One in 454, 41 mag and 22 LR. They are a pure joy to shoot. The 41 and 22 are for Silhouette shooting. Lots and lots of 40x40s.
I was not thinking when I ordered my 22 as they come with a bead blasted finish and not the normal brushed finish.
When I ordered my 454 I also bought a 45 ACP cylinder. It is a real nice break from the pounding of 454 ammo. However you can shoot 45 Colt ammo through a 454 cylinder.
I have shot a Smith 460 and did not care for it. It felt heavier than it needed and the sticky grips meant I sucked up all that recoil. The Freedom Arms Bisley style grips allow the gun to rotate slightly and sparing your wrist.
Get the Freedom Arms, you wont regret it. If you do, they hold their value much better than the Smith.
