Have this 500 S&W Magnum & would like to explore possibilities of bullet casting. Anyone doing this, would appreciate tips on how to get started and have best equipment. Thanks!

Look up bullet casting (or boolit casting) in google, there are forums specifically for it.
Casting 50cal pistol bullets is really no different than casting 44's, 38's, etc. It's easy with a little care into making a good part.

For a round that hot, don't forget to also look up "Gas check". Most hotter loads need a gas check to keep from leading the barrel.
You may want to consider a Lewis Lead Remover to remove leading in the barrel if you shoot any that are not checked or jacketed.

I shoot alot of bullets made from wheel weights out of my 500 S&W.I load them under 1,100 fps so they won't lead up the barrel too much.I hate dealing with gas checks.I had a custom 350grn mold made up so I shoot the same weight as my jacketed hunting bullets.Crimp them good.
