Anyone have any experience with the 55gr Vmax Hornady for a 22-250 with a 1:14 twist barrel. The Hornady manual says the 53gr Vmax will not stabilize in a 1:14........just wondering if anyone has experience shooting the 55gr Vmax. I have two 22-250's both have 1:14 twist barrels. Generally shoot 52gr BTHP.........thought I'd try some 55gr pills.

appreciate the feedback.......my go to load for both of these rifles is either a 52 Sierra BTHP or the 52 gr Hornady Amax......34.4 to 35 of varget produces bugholes........I have a bunch of Vmax in both 53 and 55gr......bought cheap.....have only had one outing with the 55 Vmax and was not impressed...... the manual says 53gr will not stabilize in my 1:14 barrels.......I have a good 55gr Hornady SX load, but have to run it under 3500 or sometimes will vaporize on the way to the target. I try to keep it under 3400 mv.......... may have to use them for my AR's Ill try another test
