Hiya fellas,

I was given some more PST 6-24 FFP MOA reticle Subtensions from a Vortex engineer. For you MRAD guys, I added a MRAD blue print to this thread for you, about 8 replies below, #2658458.
I switched from a MIl reticle to MOA this year. After doing some reticle ranging drills, I feel that a moa ret graduated in only 2 moa tics is coarse! I now feel a 1 moa divided reticle is needed.

Any who- I asked for more reticle subtensions, and Vortex being Vortex I got them, fast- same day in my e-mail. Now thats service, especially for such an ODD request.

Without further delay.. (all dimensions are in MOA)

The "10" as it appears on the ret is 1.3moa wide x 1moa tall. That's HANDY info.
Half the height of "10" is .5 moa - that's needed knowledge.

The "20" is 1.45 wide..... good to know

The big lines on the end of the red hairs are 3moa- good to know and half that is another precise 1.5 measurin' stick. Cool to know.

The hairs themselves are practically .2moa wide.

The individual tic marks that designate/indicate each 2moa increment are themselves 1moa tall (or wide, depending if your looking on the vert or horizontal scale. That's good info too.

Some of you won't care. So of you Will REALLY appreciate this info.

HUGE thanks to Ken Calhoun @ Vortex CS and whatever Engineer he got the diagram from

Good day,
T

Note to Vortex: Suggested revisions to the Moa FFP ret would be at least going to 1 moa incremented tic marks, and don't have the cross hair lines meet in the middle, rather let them stop short of each other by about .15 or so moa, which would leave the slightest precise aiming point. The crosshairs cover a bit too much of target as it is now... GREAT PRODUCT. INCREDIBLE Customer Service.

Sorry,
I don't use MOA, but I would like to see the same info for the Mil reticles...

Great info for the MOA users though..

Gut feelin says I'm going back to Mil. I been using them since I was twelve- been on MOA for 3(?) months.... I'll give them a tad while longer.

Interesting info TresMon. Sounds like kindred spirits here. I can't hardly look at potential targets without immediately thinking about their dimensions, or any multi-stadia reticle without thinking of subtension.

Do you have a decent sized picture other than the tiny one you posted? Maybe something on the scale of this?

Lots of good and interesting info in the diagram, just a bit difficult to read.

Is this also the same for the 6-24 SFP?

Surprisingly I was able to enlarge, sharpen, and boost the contrast a little bit more:

Bunsen, you are the man. Tresmon thanks for the thread as I have saved the pics and will spend some time with them. I have the Vortez EBR-1 on a Razon and PST.
