Range Report 6.5 140/142gr bullet question

I currently own a 260 and 6.5x284 with 1/8 twist. I shoot the 142smks or 140 bergers.

I've found a used 260 I'm thinking abut buying with a 1/9 twist. Do you think the 1/9 will work ok with the 140/142gr bullets. I generally shoot around 6,000' elevation. I believe the barrel is 22" long.

The 1:9" will work fine with 140/142 grain bullets at 6,000 feet elevation.

How low will a 1:8.5 go with the 139/140/142's?

That's good to know. It'd be a lightweight hunting rig, and I want to get as much
distance out of it as possible.
