Is there an "optimal" barrel length and twist for 6.5 CM? If so, why? Also, if there is already a thread on this, apologies, and would appreciate a link. Thx for advice.

There is no single, optimal length.
Shorter is relatively stiffer and more maneuverable, longer lengths achieve faster MV's.
Optimal twist is relative to MV and bullet length. Most LR .260 & 6.5CM shooters are running 1:8 twist or 1:8.5.
