I'm trying to determine what dies I need for a 6.5CM. I've heard if the loads are compressed a standard seating die (not match / competition) may fare better. Also, I've heard for a gasser I should avoid the bushing based dies for reliability/safety. I've scoured the two reloading sub-forums here and come across quite a bit of info but often ambiguous between bolt/gas.
1. Is it less than ideal to use a Redding Type S (bushing .288 or .289?) for a gas gun?
2. Using H4350 are the loads typically (or ever) compressed?
Intended Load (approx) if it has any bearing:
Hornady Brass
140gr Amax (require VLD style seating die?)
~41gr H4350
CCI LR
Thanks for any input.
