I'm thinking about doing a 6.5 creed on a long action Remington. I want hinged floor plate for hunting. I went with long action so I can load the heavy bullets out long. Anyone know if I'll have feeding problems with the 6.5 creed with a long action with hinged floor plate??

I had a 6mm CM on a LA that was originally a 270win- and it had feeding issues. I'm sure they could have been fixed, but in the factory configuration it didn't work very good. The cartridge just had to much room to move around and sometimes the bolt would skip over the base. Other times it would push the nose of the bullet down and jam against the front of the mag box.

I have other short action cartridges built on a LA- and they all work great, but they have longer cases with more case taper than the creedmoor.

Get a SA and get the long mags without the binder plate. I can seat my bullets out pretty dang far.
I use Accurate Mags (long version) and my current load OAL is 2.917 with 140 hybrids

Not sure how the floor plate would play in as my experience is with a mag but I run the Sierra 150’s seated pretty dang long and my only length restrictions are the mag itself. The action itself has no issues clearing the rounds. Not sure if that helps or not
