Hey all,
I recently had scored some H4350 and 140 ELD-M and decided to do some load workup. I had a thread about my build on the scout site, but I can't seem to find it. It was also cross posted on the 6.5Creedmoor forum here.

I also have my PST 6-24X50 FFP EBR-2C MRAD scope mounted with a Vortex Cantilevered 20 MOA mount. Here is a pic of my rifle in its current form.

Here is the target from the 140 ELD-M and H4350 load combo. The rounds were shot round robin and the lower right square was one shot from a bullet in the box that was missing it's poly tip. Ejection was perfect @ 4 o'clock about 10-12 ft away. Bolt lock back on last shots all the time. I have had no cycling issues with this combo.

charge / avg velocity / std dev / MOA
41.4 / 2637 / 9.4 / ,65
41.6 / 2650 / 8.4 / .53
41.8 / 2663 / 8,2 / .44

I'm currently also experimenting with 130 ELD-M and IMR 4451. Below is a couple pics of a mini OCW test (3-shot groups) I shot the same day. Looks promising, but I want to go a bit higher with the charge. The velocities were a bit on the slow side. The 42.3 load only averaged 2715 fps. That combo looks promising though.

The bottom right square had one shot from a bullet in the box with a damaged poly tip. I have never had any damaged bullets before, but now had one in each box of ELD bullets from hornady. Wonder what the deal is?

Appreciate you posting your results. After reading your previous thread, I jumped on the BA bandwagon. New to the large frame AR's, but I was happy with the initial factory ammo results. I've only put about 20rds downrange, so it may improve a bit with more use.

Pulled the high round while getting used to the Hi speed NM trigger. Felt like there was no "wall" for the second stage. I've made a few adjustments since then to reduce the chances of that happening again.

Nice results and sweet looking rifle. How do you like the Gen 3 PRS?

Thanks for the kind words. I'll have the rail coated soon, but I wanted to get it together and try it too bad to wait on cerakote.

I've never used a fix stock before, so no comparison, but it works rather well. I like being able to use an existing carbine buffer tube. Ive ordered a second one for a 223 build that I'd like to try and get a bit more accuracy out of.

Just curious, what kind of velocity and SD are you seeing out of your JP barrel? How about typical accuracy?

I'll have to do some digging to fine the sd/es but that above load runs about 2690, I tried 147's with the same load on a 30 degree day and it was 2625 and showed a little ejector smear and backing it down to 40.5 it was clocking 2590 and shooting nice and between 1/2 and 3/4" at 100 yards. 41.3 with 140's has shot as tight as 1/2 moa but tends to be closer to 3/4 moa most days... some of which is me for sure, LOL. But I took 3rd place at the Michigan Guardian last fall against some very talented bolt action shooters so it is good enough to win matches.

Here is a pic of a 700 yard target I shot with some ammo that had been chambered at matches but not fired. I wasn't adjusting for wind on these, just dialed and held the same wind for all 7-8 shots.

Posting results from today's shooting session. I ran through a more typical OCW test (5 shot groups, .3 grain increment, round robin) with 130 ELD-M and IMR 4451. I'm going to do some more testing in the upper end of this scale. I'm not too thrilled with the SD's in the teens, but will take what I can get. The first 5 shot group in the upper left of the first target was 5 rounds that I loaded up at the mid range (42.3 grain) of this round of testing (and high end of previous mini OCW). It was encouraging to see a sub-half moa group emerge. Note, I shot this OCW test waiting approx 2 - 3 minutes between shots. Setup was as previous test session - Harris (with Hawk Hill Talon feet) bipod and rear bag.

Here are the numbers by shot group
Charge weight / Shot Group / Avg velocity / Extreme Spread / Std Deviation / MOA
42.3 / A / 2731 / 17 / 7 / .47 MOA
41.4 / 1 / 2680 / 54 / 22 / .57 MOA
41.7 / 2 / 2699 / 43 / 18 / .53 MOA
42.0 / 3 / 2720 / 45 / 17 / .73 MOA
42.3 / 4 / 2740 / 33 / 15 / .68 MOA
42.6 / 5 / 2758 / 46 / 21 / .61 MOA
42.9 / 6 / 2776 / 41 / 16 / .46 MOA
43.2 / 7 / 2796 / 24 / 10 / .46 MOA
43.5 / 8 / 2812 / 41 / 18 / .68 MOA
43.8 / 9 / 2831 / 55 / 21 / .60 MOA

Brass looks good to my eye, with no major ejector swipes. I think I will find a decent load to run with using this combo. Shouldn't be difficult to find a 8lb jug of IMR 4451.
