I am having a 6.5 Creedmoor built now and have a few questions... For those of you that have been shooting and reloading for the Creedmoor for a while, how many reloads have you been able to get out of the Hornady brass? What kind of barrel life have you experienced?

I want to pick up enough brass to last the life of the barrel, but I'm not to sure how many pieces would be "about right".

Thanks much.

Re: 6.5 Creedmoor

I have around 2k through mine and I have not noticed a drop in accuracy. I think brass life is more dependant on how "hot" your load is. I run 41.8gr of H4350 getting 2815 avg velocity out of a 28" tube. I've ran them up to 6 X fired but the primer pockets were getting loose starting at 4 x with about 1/3 of the brass. If it wasn't for that I probably could have gone a couple more.

Re: 6.5 Creedmoor

The Creedmoor was designed to work at 308 pressures,so it will have a pretty long barrel life to it. My 308 had 700 rounds in it before i switched it to the Creedmoor. With that said I have 6 reloads on my brass so far and have no issues with the Hornady brass.
