Looking at a new AR build, was thinking 6.5 Grendel but ran across the 6.5 Patriot Combat Cartridge or
6.5 PCC. It's a necked up 556 NATO. Any one have any experience with it? Am I better off sticking with the Grendel? The PCC would use the same bolt, and magazines, the, Grendel would not.

If you want factory ammo support, Grendel is it. If you want to shoot Berger 130gr Hybrid Tactical bullets with their outstanding BC, Grendel is it. If you want enough case capacity to stave off buyer's remorse, Grendel is it. Stick with Grendel...

What's the intended use of the gun? Last I looked at the 6.5 PCC it was only pushing 120gr bullets at maybe 2200 fps. The Grendel is slow enough at 25-2600 fps, if you intend to shoot longer ranges you can't afford to lose that speed. The use of existing brass, bolts and magazines is the only advantage of 6.5 PCC, performance is not a selling point.
