So I’m trying to develop a load for my 6.5PRC rifle.
One of the things I consistently struggle with is primer seating. If the primer pocket is really tight and it takes a lot of effort to seat the primer, then I almost always end up crushing the primer.
If the primer goes in relatively easy, I can feel it bottom out and I seat it perfectly.
My question is this, what does crushing primers do to accuracy and why?
I’m using both Hornady and Gunwerks brass. I run into it with both kinds and it doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s first firing or 3rd.
I’m using Federal 210 match primers.
thanks
