I am reloading for my 6.5 x 47 lapua. Working up loads for 100 grain bergers - also 108 lapua scenars. COAL is suggested at 2.80 inches - at that depth, my 140s are jammed into the lands and I am getting good groups.

problem is that the 100s and 108s are much shorter and at 2.80 they aren't even seated. What seating depth or COAL should i be using for these shorter bullets. If I seat at 2.65 they would be jumping to the lands quite a bit (is this too much of a jump)?

Thanks!

Paul.

you're worrying about too much. If they are too short, seat them to where they look right to you and then do load development. Once you find the best load you can play with seating depth up and down but with that much jump, it may not matter a whole lot. If the bullet falls out you didn't seat enough. If your o-give disappears, they are too short. Find the happy medium.
