So I'm helping a buddy develop some loads for his 6.5cm and he's unsure what dies to buy. I personally use forster dies for my precision stuff but they don't have what he needs. He's looking at the redding premium with the micro seater. Are the comp series really worth the extra $$$?

I have the Redding Premium 3 die set and it is great.

Thanks guys. We have a buddy that works at hornady and we have a hook up on dies but wasn't sure how the hornady ones compare. I'm a hornady fan boy but never used their match dies

I have a redding sizer with the carbide ball, and the seater with the micrometer stem. I no longer use the sizer and i never used the seater die, as I prefer the competition style with the sliding sleeve.

I don't think a new reloader will have an issue with the hornady set especially for the cost. Get the micrometer seater top and a couple bullet specific seating stems. Seating stems crushing my ogive has been my biggest pet peeve in reloading 6.5.
