Anyone have any reportage to offer on 120gr 6.5 Lapua Scenar L's? Thinking about trying a thousand to spread amongst Grendel, Creedmoor and 6.5x47, but am not seeing any actual results from a handful of searches here, Accurate Shooter and Google. Only ads pushing them. Would appreciate any feedback available. Thx.

Why use these over the 123gr Scenars? The 123gr Scenar has a better BC, a much longer history of outstanding results, and are readily available. Just curious about your thought process with these 120gr Scenar Ls...

To be honest, not as much thought as there should be. One is a good price/M at Midway at the moment. Another is that I'm running down on 107 Sierra and 108 Scenars, which just happen to shoot very well in both pairs of Grendels and Creedmoors, and was looking for 120 class bullet that will about equal length of 107/108's, but carry the wind better at 500yds-the limit of a range I have reasonable access to. Also of note, the 107/108's seem to shoot best in Creedmoor around 2925 in AR and 3025 in bolt gun. If I could run the extra weight of 120's at these speeds with accuracy and without hitting my brass too hard, they might have some potential. Point made about 123 Scenars, and have some, more dedicated to 6.5x47 than either of other 6.5's. Been looking for some feedback on 120's, but as you've noted, 123's seem to have more history and availability. Kind of odd to me that I got hung up on 107/108's, but they shot very well without a lot of load work, and I've stuck with them till inventory position's dwindled, so looking for alternates.

I'm doing load development for my 6.5x47 lapua at the moment and can't get the 120gr Scenar L to group tighter than 0.5MOA at the moment, but it's early days with my load development for that projectile as I've only tried it with ADI AR2209 powder. It's definitely capable of better as I've got Berger 130gr VLDs grouping in the 0.3's shooting off a bipod and basic rear bag setup. I'll look to try a different powder next to see if there's much of a difference.
