Hey guys brand new to this forum 2nd post here. I am in the process of building a 6.5mm bolt action. I am most likely going to go with the 6.5 Creedmoor so I am run rounds in a magazine. Okay so here is my build. I am having the gun built by short action customs in Ohio by Mark. I am gonna run a 28" Bartlien or Krieger. The action is based off a defiance deviant action. I am going to get a jewel trigger also. I am going to have the action and barrel melonited. And the whole barreled action will be siting in a Mccree stock. And as for the scope I am going to purchase the new Vortex hd gen 2 series. And a spurh mount for the scope. If you would please give me your options or suggestions for the build. Also Creedmoor loads would be great! I want to run Berger 140 hybrids out of this gun. Thanks guys!!

It is best to have this discussion with Mark at SAC. He can get you sorted out in grand fashion.
He built my CM on his Alpha II action (Defiance with upgrades), a Manners T6a, a 26" Bartlein (RV contour),
and a Timney trigger. And he had all this in his shop so build time was reasonably short.

I shoot the 139 Scenars at 2840 fps with H4350

I grew tired of looking for the 140 Hybrids.

Take a look at the XLR chassis and manners mini chassis options too. I would go with a tuned Remmy or Timney over a Jewell trigger. 28" is long; 26" should be adequate. What is your barrel contour?

Otherwise, it looks good.

BTW, there really isn't a performance difference between 260 and 6.5CM, but 6.5CM is the best because that's what I use ;-)

Only thing I would change is trim the barrel down to the 24-26" range and thread it with a contoured badger thruster. Everything I have read is that 24-26" is the sweet spot for the creedmoors. I am having mine done to that length. Go ahead and get the barrel threaded in case you want to get a can later on and while the rifle will not kick much already, the brake will help you spot your shots easier. If you plan on shooting F class with it, no brake. As for the stock, they are such a personal feel kind of thing. That said, my preference is a manners T4a. Here is my latest build. It is on a rem 700 and a 6 creedmoor though. I am very happy with the results. Very well balanced, minimal recoil, and if I miss, it is my fault.

I think a 28" creedmoor would be interesting, remember you can always shorten it but you can't add length later. My buddy has a AINA 24" creedmoor barrel and mine was 26". Both bartlein 1:8's, both chambered by Dave Tooley, and the way AI orders their blanks there's a good chance it's from the same batch. We chronod both of our rifles on the same day with the same lot of factory ammo from the same box and my barrel was 75fps faster. I also got more velocity with a mild charge of H4831 than he gets with a somewhat warm load of H4350, H4831 would only work better in a longer barrel too.
