I have built a 6.5x284 Norma on a Rem. 700 long action that was originally a 30-06. I am having problems feeding from the stock BDL magazine. The rifle will feed from the right side of the magazine but not the left. When the bolt hits the back of the round the round pops loose from the feed lips too early. Any ideas? I would like to keep the stock magazine if possible.

You might try widening the top of the mag box on the left side. If the feed lip is too close to the mag box lip it won'hold the round as long and pops out from under feed lip.

Yes, listen to George. Save time and frustration. Brownells will have the part.
