What bullet would you recommend for me to start doing load development with for my new rifle. I have a 6.5X47 bolt action 27" Broughton 5C barrel.
Bullets that I currently have on hand are Lapua Scenar 139 grain, Sierra HPBT 142 grain, and Hornady AMAX 140 grain. Powder that I have on hand is RE17 and H4350.
Which of these bullets have you found to give you the best accuracy/tightest groups for shooting between 100-1000 yards out of a long barrel? Thanks in advance.

Re: 6.5X47 bullet question

If you want to sort them, I think the 142gr SMK.
If you don't want to sort, I think the Lapua Scenars.

On powders, if speed is what you deserve, go RL17.
If temp stable/accuracy is, go H4350.

A bullet that you don't mention, but has been great for me out of the 47L, is the 140gr Berger LR-BT. Easier to find load for than 142gr SMK (which is very easy) with the same BC and more consistent/higher BC than the Scenars.

What twist barrel?
In my experience (2 years) shooting this cartridge, I think it does better with the lighter bullets. I shoot the JLK 130's and they are awesome. Using RL-15 or VV N150 out of a 30 inch barrel and getting 2900-2950fps with no pressure signs and incredible accuracy.
