what bullet? Your question depends on too many variables to answer correctly. But, if you run a 139 Scenar at 2500 fps, you're good to about 1300 yards, depending on your AO. If you use a lighter bullet (120 or 123), that distance will decrease. A 20" would "get there".

Barrel is an 8 twist and I want a shorter lighter weight rifle. I will be using it for Varmint, deer, and match. Wanted an all around gun.
Was planning on shooting the 130gr Berger bullets. Just wanted to be sure I could reach out to 1000 max.
Being built on a Rem700 with #5 bbl in Manner's T4. Thanks for the help.

I'm putting one together with a 20" Brux 8.5 twist. Planning to run 130 JLKs or Bergers. Should be able to run 2750-2800 fps with it. At that I should be running out of elevation adjustment at about 1500 yards.
