I'm in the process of rounding up reloading components for a new 6.5X47L build. I'm trying to decide which die set to get and which size(s) of bushings to order. I'm looking at the Redding set and the RCBS Gold Medal Match Series Bushing 2-Die Neck Sizer Set. I'm leaning towards the Redding set as it is a FL die, but I don't need the micrometer seating die.
Also, what is the neck diameter of a loaded cartridge that has not been neck turned?

why do you not need to micro seater die ?

you need diameters around .285-.290 , somewhere around there i think , depending on case neck thickness , uh , i think a loaded round is around .287 or .288 , but im not sure.

i wouldnt buy any RCBS stuff.

Thanks for the replies.
I say that I don't need a micrometer seater simply for the fact that my rifle will be built as a hunting rifle. Don't get me wrong, I like the micro seaters, just not sure I need to spend the extra $$. After doing my research this afternoon however, it looks as though that will be the route I end up taking, Type S Redding FL with micro seater, I just haven't convinced myself yet.
From the guys I have spoken with and read replies, it appears that RCBS doesn't have a big following when it comes down to the quality of their products.

The Forster Ultra seater die with micrometer works just as well as the redding die, and is considerably less. I went with the the Forster FL Ultra micrometer die set for around $86 in 6.5x47.

With Lapua brass, and a 123gr scenar, my cartridges measure ".290". I use a ".286" bushing.

I use RCBS and Redding dies, like them both, the RCBS Gold Medal seater is cool as it gets. Drop the pill in the window, seat, no pinched fingers. And for semiauto guns, you can't beat their X-die concept.
I do own more Redding dies though.
