40.6 is my chip on the table. Above and below not impact in the same place and it already is tight. Test a tenth up or down to see if it flies off the rails, if not you're in
I would say 40.4-40.5... What do you have these loaded to? Touching the lands or .001? I have some killer loads with everything but 140 ELD-M for my x47L... Finally got a few thousand in and Im just about to test. Interested in what seating depth you used. I will be testing with Varget first.
These were all loaded to .010" off the lands. 41.2 has a pretty good crunch of powder when seating. Have heard good things about varget but I have a 28" bartlein and heard that varget quits burning in like 22". Idk I that's true or not.
Im running a 26" Bartlein/TL3 and Ive been getting excellent velocity and low single digit SD's and accuracy with Varget. H4350 was really good but I find Varget better in x47L.
Ok I shot tonight on the same target. Next to 41.2 is 40.4 the. Next row down to the left is 40.8 and right of that is 41.5. Any thought? Possibly pulled the one on 40.8 but not 100 percent on that.
If you did indeed pull the one shot on 40.8 then I would say your sweet spot is 40.6 - 40.7. Did you happen to chronograph your shots? I suspect the velocity would be pretty flat in the 40.4 to 40.8 area. If it were me I would probably just load 40.6 grains and go shoot.
This is a 5 shot group at 40.6. Top left is cold bore. Next 3 went into the tiny cluster low and right. 5th round went right under cold bore. Then shot 5 over the magnetospeed. Running 2795fps ES-15 SD-5.
That's a serious cold bore shift. I was getting that with 140 Hybrids and H4350. Varget stacks them all into a clover leaf. No cold bore shift. Give it a try. Here's my OCW tests with Varget and the 139 Scenars and 130 AR Hybrids. ES and SD are very consistently low with Varget as well.

Here's my SH 100yd challenge target that took the #1 spot. You can see cold bore and follow up shot top left were right on top of each other. POI on the next 3 groups is the same as the cold bore as well. I was not seeing this consistency with H4350. Don't get me wrong, H4350 was very good and I have a very nice 140 Hybrid load with it that I make boring hits out to 1000yds consistently but I find Varget even better.
