Anybody got any loads for this cartridge with the 140's? I know alot of people say 140's are to heavy but so far mine likes the 140 vld's. I just want to get the speed up. Right now I'm getting 2770. Any info would be greatly appreciated. TM

I plan to load some 140s for my upcoming Lapua build with a 22" barrel. I was offered the below loads from a guy with QuickLOAD.
Expect a 25-50 fps increase per extra inch of barrel. Also don't forget to reduce these charges by 5-7% to start.
Lastly, if your barrel is 24" or longer, don't forget to try RL 15, RL17, and H4350. I'm sorry, I can't help you with charge weights for these powders.

Jamming the bullet into the lands is like a 2 gr increase in powder, so don't have that as an out of control variable.
We are assuming a 3,600 psi start pressure in your quickload calcs.
Normally, 2k is off the lands and 5 k is into the lands, but you have a small bullet area, so 3.6k is what we are using.
H4895 38.5 gr 71,867 psi, 2755 fps, 101.7% fill ratio
N135 37.2 gr 71,995 psi, 2699 fps, 104.9% fill ratio
N140 39.4 gr 72,241 psi, 2739 fps, 104.8% fill ratio
Varget 38.6 gr 72,088 psi, 2776 fps, 101.9% case fill

.618BC at 2770fps is nothing to complain about.If it shoots good then enjoy.Go look at the 7mm08 thread and you will feel much better.
