6.5X55 question

Re: 6.5X55 question

6.5mm 140g bullets have much better BC than 308 bullets (unless you shoot 210g in 308 but I don't see that happening). I really like the 6.5x55, have two Swed Mausers and a Savage in 6.5x55. There are a couple of pluses to the 260: short action and the brass is standard head size. 6.5x55 is an oddball head so you really need to buy the European stuff (Win and Rem use 308/30-06 head but really is not the way to go). Both good rounds but I'm sticking with 6.5x55.

Re: 6.5X55 question

I have a Sako 85 Finnlight in 6.5x55. Super accurate, low recoil and very comfortable to carry (lightweight). I handload, but there are a bunch of factory loadings for this. I have shot some of the Lapua 139 Scenar loaded ammo and have all 5 shots touching at 100 yards. Every 139/140 grain bullet I have tried has shot under 1" at 100y. You can't go wrong with the 6.5x55.
