Anyone have any experience with scopes with a 6.8 SPC reticle? I know there is an ACOG with one. I seem to recall that the 6.8 and 7.62 have similar drops out to about 400-500 yards, thus allowing one to use a 7.62 reticle for a 6.8??

I have a leupold vx3 2.5-8x36 with the Boone and crocket reticle. Using 115 fusion ammo I am an inch high at 100 and two inches low at 300. I used the main crosshair for 100 and the third mark for 300. That's the farthest I've shot it so far. This is with an 18" barrel btw. Hope this helps.

The answer is "sorta". Bryan Litz is your ballistic friend:

If you'll shoot fast 85s or 95s, I'd guess it would match a little better until you get to 400ish.

Edit: The mystery was too much. A 95gr @ 2750ish is VERY close to 300yds and less than .3 off by 400.

As long as you have trued ballistic data on whatever caliber you are shooting and know the value of the bdc sub tensions you can use virtually any caliber and any bdc. For example, my scar 17 with vortex gen 2 1-6 sub tensions are as follows according to vortex:1st subtension-2.4 moa
2nd-5.6 moa
3rd- 9.5 moa
4th- 14.6 moa
Having the ballistic data from the load I shoot I know that 2.4 moa=253 yards
5.6 moa = 372 yards
Etc.. Also depending on your selected zero yardage. Mine happened to be at 100 yards.
