My 6x47 barrel died out last week and my new 6 dasher barrels shows up tommorrow. I was able to get a spot at MPA match this weekend and wondering if anyone out there is shooting a dasher with any of these components? I’ve seen some posts in my searching around but most are older ones.

Anyone out there shoot a dasher with this stuff and have a idea where to start? Hydroformed lapua brass is what I’m useing, I know the varget 105 combo is a winner but this is what I got and no time to order anything else. Any help would be appreciated!

I’d load a quick powder ladder and pick something around 2850-2875fps and call it good. Watch your dope during the match, barrel is gonna speed up on you. Do real load development after the barrel has some rounds on it. Wild guess on powder would be 33.5-34gr.

So for anyone else that may use this set up.this weekend at MPA I used 34gr rl16, 110smk 2.4 coal, not sure how far off it is as I don’t have a modified case yet. Br4 primers In hunts long range hydro formed brass and after the new barrel settled it it was right at 2800fps. No pressure or anything even with the large FP primers were good. I’m gonna work up a couple loads to see what my limit is for reference but the rl16 preformed perfect. 26inch kreiger 4 grove 7tw is the barrel. Phot is the last nine shots I had after the match over the magneto

I'm glad you posted this! I have a barreled action waiting for me at my smith. I've been waiting on my MPA chassis to arrive after ordering it in February (Freaking February!!! Are you kidding??? But I digress...)

I have about 25 pounds of Reloder 16 and 16 pounds of Varget, so I should have both bases covered. I'd heard of some guys using RL16 in their Dasher with good results, so I was eager to try. The only differences would be that I'm using Norma Dasher brass and 450 primers.

Right on. Glad it worked out.

I'm runnng 108 ELD's @ 2,845 with varget in a 22" bbl and not pushing hard.

Bet you could be up around 2,900 no problem.

So with the brass being fireformed now , I annealed and did a ladder test, 34.8gr rl16 got 2900 with no pressure what so ever. I have a nice node at 2820 so I’m just going to stick with the 34gr that in the formed brass sits me right at 2820. Probably could get to 3000 if I really wanted but it shot great at 2820 at LPRC this last weekend. RL16 seems to work in the dasher just fine. Here’s the 5 shot 200 yard group and the magneto speed.
