I am wondering if there is any advantage to changing out the stamped follower to a milled follower?? It looks like the milled follower is different on the top side,,,,?

If you are going m40 (assuming since you said 6 digit and normals don't make that distinction) then milled follower.
As far as function i haven't noticed a difference between either.
