I came across an old 6 digit Rem 700, actually two of em, so what better to do, than to turn one into this beauty. It took some time to find the rest of the necessary parts. Once I had everything, it was off to GAP for the build. I believe the serial number (321560) is actually within the proper range of the M40/M40A1. At least if you go by Senich’s book.
It’s

too bad, but it has always been a “safe queen”. I do pull it out once in awhile. Never have fired it. Heck, with the price I’ve seen some of the parts go go for, I might just part it out.

Anyone know what the value of this rifle might be if left complete????

Thanks, Greg

Hey, this aint an auction.
Take yer filthy money and git!!
🤣

Really though, keep that thing.
If not, sell as a complete rifle. Lotta collectors of such cool stuff.

As much as I'd love for that stock to hit the PX, it seems like parting it out would be iffy. Dunno. Throw it on Gunbroker for 7500. Or get some Krylon and work on making it look truly authentic. They weren't built to be beautiful.

Thanks for all you replies. You guys are making me want to go shoot it and actually keep it, at least for a bit longer.

thanks for posting. Best rifle thy made

Outstanding rifle! If you sell it you'll regret it ; )
I'd love to have GAP build one like that for me...

That rifle deserves to be shot. It was made to spread the seeds of freedom. And parting that out would be like parting out a shiny new Ferrari that you trailered from the stealership to your garage.

I had the rifle done in Sept 2012, so probably picked up the stock in 2011 or there about. Attached pic of the U.S. stamp that you wanted to see.
