6 inches low at 15m?!

I inherited back my own ruger 10/22 recently (step dad hogged it for 20 years) and I had a Nikon monarch on the shelf. So I went to Wally world and got a 2 piece weaver mount and rings. I mounted it up and I am shooting 6 inches low at only 15m. The iron sights are dead on at this range. I maxed out elevation and I'm still 6 low. I tried swapping the rings. What else should I try? Lapping the rings?

From what I see, you are not using a ruger base. Get that first. I have a couple laying around in case you don't have one. PM me if you need one. Then see what it does, if it still low, shim it. I use aluminum beer cans, soda cans will do also.

Are you sure the bases are on correctly (they look to be)? I would shim the rear base.

You may have the Imfamous Ruger " barrel droop", due to the crappy way the barrel mounts....put a shim, rubber inner tube ect. in the stock to raise the barrel up and or get a Gunsmither V-block... it has a adjustable small screw that pushes the barrel up built in.....Do not over torque your barrel mount screws...should be 10-12 lbs.
