Had a box of .223 68 gr. Hornady BTHP Match bullets handed to me today (love it when that happens). It would be a sin to just let them gather dust. I've got some Varget and some IMR-4895 on hand and a full card of BR-4 primers. Anybody got any experience with the bullet?

it a hot load, but the new 8208XBR powder works great out of my 1:9 twist and a 69gn NCC.the charge weight is 24.0gn's.and the Hodgdon web site show's 23.7 as a max.but all pressure signs are good for my rifel.even the wife can slam 5 rounds at 100 yards well under a half inch with this load.and she has only shoot the rifel twice.

Re: 68 gr. Hornady BTHP Match

I couldnt get those 68 grainers to shoot as tight as 52/53 grain bullet. Both of my target rifles have 1/9 twist, DPMS 20" and Rem 700P 26" barrels. Load was with 25.0 H4895. No luck over her so I gave up and stayed with the lighter bullets. You know the old saying every gun is different.
