So today I mounted the scope on the 6CM RPR. Half ass bore sighted it. Dry fired a hundred times or so aiming at random whatever’s on my property.
I had bought a bag of Hornady brass and a box of 108 ELDM when I picked up the rifle a couple weeks ago.
So I was looking at some load data for 4350 on Hornady website. I don’t have any 4350 but I do have a small amount of 4831. I seen a load of 41.6 of IMR 4831 would be around 3000. I don’t have my 6CM dies yet so I rounded up a shell holder and primed five pieces of brass after prepping them. I dumped 41.6 grains in each one and used my 22-250 bullet seating die to seat the bullets at just under 2.790”
First round fired from the rifle at 100 was not on paper so I moved the target to 50 yds or so. Second round in bottom right corner. I turned the elevation and windage to the second bullet hole. Third shot dead center. Moved the target back to one hundred yds and aiming at the third hole and shot four and five into the same hole.
So I have me a shooter. Anyone else shooting the 6CM with IMR 4831?
I stopped at my local gun store today looking for 4350 with no luck. They did have a large quantity of the IMR 4831.
Your thoughts on 4831 vs 4350?
Thanks

I've shot a 6 creed alot, never with 4831. Might be a little slow burning, I don't know who got 3000 fps
The best powders are RL16 & H4350, about the same powder weights, usually around 41.0-41.9
for best accuracy, will get you low 3000's to 3100. depending on brass, primers and bullet weights.
Your RPR will probably speed up until 50 or more rounds down the tube.
Do some more reading in the 6 creed threads and get some data using those powders
and get some.

I remember my loads with H4831sc as mediocre at best. You will need more than 41.6 to make velocity. Probably closer to 44.0 but don’t quote me on that. Things were mich easier with H4350.
