Re: 6mm 223 IMP
i have built two. the first was a truck gun with 22" pacnor 1-10 twist barrel. it would push the 60gr bullets 3600 and the 65 v-max 3450. the heaviest i shot was 80gr berger and it would do 3150 if i remember correctly. accuracy with almost everything was exceptional. i rebuilt the rifle with a 1-14 twist to see if the TCU could run with a 6br. it will but i never got an better velocity or accuracy than i did before. what i wouldnt give for the for the light weight truck gun back. i did shoot a couple of pigs the other day at 300+ with a 70gr hornady spire point while fireforming brass. it did VERY well on the pigs. this bullet was made for the TCU and i sure wish it had not been discontinued. i shot probably 100 rounds of different stuff through the rifle today at 210yds shooting prone out of the garage. with stuff it likes, 1/2" groups at that distance are not out of the question. it will keep most loads inside 1" at 210. the .223AI is my all time favorite for varmints but i find the TCU hits MUCH harder that is why i chose it for my truck gun that may be called on to shoot deer, pigs, or varmints at any given time. i find no reason not to use it if you have a .223 bolt face receiver.
