I am looking to get either a .243 or 6CM barrel for use in my lmt mws.
I have found several makers, Hart and Lija to be specific willing to send me a barrel unthreaded and unchambered. The problem I am having is finding a smith to thread, chamber and drill a gas port.
Does any one have a recomendation for a smith to do this type work on a large frame ar barrel? I would really like to get a 6CM barrel so that would be a requirement when looking for a smith, but if there are none .243 will do.
What type barrel extension am I going to need to work with my mws/kac style bolt? Will these barrels be coming from the maker with an extension, or will that be something the smith will have to add for me?
After the above work is complete I will be sending the barrel to Marvin Pitts so I have that part of the puzzle figured out. It's the steps in between I need help with, this being my first totally custom barrel.
