Well I'm getting an aiax in 308 and 6mm creedmoor.

I know almost nothing about this cartridge, other than its very effective and getting the brass from GAP.

Anyone have any pet loads? What bullets and powders do I use? What charge ranges do I test?

I have varget, 8208xbr,h1000 and retumbo. I'm guessing none of these apply for it though.

Any info would be appreciated. I've searched the forum as much as I could but mostly just found references to the quality of brass or comparing it to other calibers.

From what I have read while researching the 6cm and what I've seen from my 6xc's you will want H4350, 105 Berger Hybrids @ ~.015-.020 off the lands. Start at about 40 grains with the 6cm and work up in .3-.5's till you see/feel pressure signs, look for the node that is below that point and refine it. There should be one just into 41 grains and another a little more than a grain higher...

    here you go

    http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/snipers-hide-reloading-depot/103774-**6-creedmoor**.html

    excerpt

Gas gun 41 gr H4350 and the 105 Hornady at 2.750 or 105 berger hybrid at 2.800

Bolt Rifle 42.2 H4350 and the 105 Berger Hybrid at 2.815

This is with the GAP 6mm Creed Reamer and it has .199 FB length may vary if you rifle was cut with a different reamer.

in a Bolt Gun 43 grains of H4350 is absolute max and may even be too hot in some rifles. (44 gr is crazy hot and dangerous)

I can't believe I missed that thread. Thanks for the link
So it looks like I need to get dies and brass from gap, 105gr berger hybrids, use my br2 primers till I get tula primers to account for loose primer pockets, and lastly h4350.

The only problem I see is the powder, can't find it in the usual places. Anyone know a place with some 8lb'ers?

Get the Whidden dies instead of the Hornady. I have both and the Whidden are worth the extra money IMHO.

I wonder how this cartage is doing in the gas guns now. I saw some post of some problems in the past. I would like to build one in a bolt gun

My match gun and fave LR rifle is a GAP-10 in 6 Creed with a 22" barrel. It's favorite load is a 105 pointed hybrid on top of 41.3gr of H4350. It's 7.1mils to 1k, and I've shot under .2moa at 950 yards with that load. Can't beat it, and it barely recoils at all.

When I had my gap10 I shot bn coated 105gn hybrids at 2.7550 which were pointed so it took a little more powder but 41.8 is what i ran and was very accurate. Velocity was around 3050fps

Well I was able to snag 16 1LB'ers of H4350, 500 105gr berger hybrids, 500 pieces of brass from gap and some whidden dies. I tried looking for Tula/Wolf primers but couldn't find any at reasonable prices, so I'll just use my stock of CCI BR2's. So I'm good to go! When i'm ready I will run an OCW from 40gr in .3gr increments until pressure hits.

Br2s work good until. Primer pockets loosen up then you will want the wolf or tula primers.. I see an average of about 8fps variance between the br2s and the wolf primers with wold being a little faster and more consistent. The last shot in this group was a br2 which got mixed in with the wolf primers somehow and screwed up my 0fps spread. Lol.

How are the pockets on your brass, the batch I got from gap a month ago are extremely tight, and my load of h4350 41.9 gets me 3100 in a 26" barrel I use fgmm 210s im on the 5th reload and they feel like new lapua pockets , nice and snug.

My new brass feels much better than the last batch so hopefully it will remain nice and tight. I'm going to keep reloading 20 of them each go around to see how long I can go without annealing or the primer pockets going to junk.
