Has anyone tried the 110 SMK in a 6x47 with favorable results? I know it's asking a lot of a small cartrige, but I'm curious. I am planning ahead for a 6x47 and wondering if it is possible or do I need to plan on sticking with 105 Hybrids.

I can't see any reason they wouldn't, they've been shooting solid in my 6 Dasher. Definitely a drift edge vs Hybrids.

Not wanting to hijack this thread, but I just bought some of these to test in my Dasher. I'd be interested in your results, loads and gun details. PM me if you wish, thanks!

OP, I know guys running them in 6 Creeds with outstanding results.

I have a Hawk Hill 7 twist on order just for these. 6x47L My question for those using them now would be about jump sensitivity. Running 105 Hybrids and my throat is about 50 thou longer at about 800 rounds. Hybrids were still running like a champ.

I'd rather have a consistent bullet than shave a tenth of a mil of wind. But I've only shot bergers in matches the last 3 years, never loaded anything from a green box. Or check the distance to the lands more frequently....

I just started running the 110's in my 47 a couple weeks ago. Right now I'm pushing them at 3,000fps out of a 26", 7.5 twist Hawk Hill. Their holding half MOA out 800 (haven't gone further), but I think I still need to push them a little harder.

Ran some seating depth tests this past weekend. From what I saw it takes big "gaps" to notice any influence in the group size. I settled on .010 off the lands but there wasn't much difference at .020 off. Groups widened a little around .035-.045 off. Next I will try kissing the lands, although I don't see the benefit as the throat in these 6x47's is constantly running away.

I have a 7 twist K&P in 6 Dasher. They shoot at .015" off but they have a short bearing surface and long nose so they sit pretty far forward in the neck. The reamer was designed for 105 Hybs. I was hoping they would shoot at .050 - .070 off so it would put the bullet in the neck where it needs to be but haven't seen them shoot there yet.

Interested to hear what barrel you are using that you are losing so much throat on. I lost .055" of throat out of a 6.5x47L shooting Varget/ 130 Hybrids at 2840fps in 850rds. Lost accuracy trying to maintain .020 jump. This happened in 4 months. Pretty surprised and disappointed in that barrel.

This is my first 6x47L and while I do love shooting it, and it has been dead consistent despite what the interwebz say, I am preparing for it to go at any moment past 1,200 rounds.

However i did change my 1:7 to 1:7.5 at the recommendation of three people much more experienced in this than I.

I have 500 of these waiting. I'll run them in the new barrel and see. If they don't shoot, I'll go back to hybrids.

What freebore are you Running? And where does the 110 SMK sit in the neck at the lands?

Thanks so much for the feedback. I've been going back and forth on what freebore to order. I've heard they jump well so I'm surprised you didn't have luck. I guess every barrel is different.

.160 seems like a very large freebore, largest I've heard of in a 6x47. I figured that would barely have any Bullet in the neck at the lands. Seems like most are using a .104 for the 105 Hybrid.

Maybe im more confused now haha

Maybe try jumping them even more. A couple of very good shooters I know are running them between .050 to .080 off. I've seen other guys say .010 off. I highly trust these guys opinions and it's too big of a coincidence that the 2 best shooters at my club run em' with such a big jump. I'm designing my reamer to make a .100 jump possible and stay at the neck shoulder junction.

but every barrel is different
