Just purchased a FN FS2000 Bullpup and want to use my 5.56 AAC Mini-4 suppressor on it. Many interesting discussions have come because of this.

Once you get the pinned factory flash hider off, you will discover the barrel has 9/16-28 left hand threads. I initially thought that I would just have the barrel cut down from 17.44 to 16.5 and have it re-threaded to 1/2x28, the usual AR threading. After having an enormous difficulty tracking down a gunsmith willing to work on the FS2000, I decided to call AAC and see if they had any options.

Their recommendation was to use a 7.62 AAC Black Out 51T 9/16-24 left hand flash hider on the 5.56 barrel. They said it would go right on the barrel and my Mini-4 would attach directly without any difficulty.

I don't doubt AAC, but am wanting to know if anyone has heard of or done such a thing? Will using a 7.62 flash hider on a 5.56 barrel have an impact on accuracy?

Just thought I would get the opinion of the Hide before I embarked on this endeavor. Thanks for you opinions.

Done it, it will have no ill effect on accuracy, it may however be slightly less effective as a brake with the larger diameter.

Thanks for the quick reply. I really appreciate it.

So I'm assuming there's no issue with running a suppressor on that configuration either?
