#7 Douglas Contour

Nothing deep, but I just had a 700 SA rebarreled with a #7 contour barrel. I like the M40, but sometimes I like a bit lighter tube. The Remington varmint is a bit too light, though.

I just received the #7 a few days ago and think I am going to like this "'tween contour." It is bedded in a McMillan HTG and seems to fit a bit better than the M40- doesn't overwhelm the forend as much. The weight and balance also feels good. It is cut at 20" and handles well.

Anyone else running this size tube?

Yeah I have two...one on a s/a 700 trued action in 6.5x47L and one on a l/a in 308. I also have built several with this contour for customers. Actually have one on the shalf for another 6.5 x 47 build for a customer, after he shot mine he had to have one.
