do any of the servicies use this round for snipeing or ang ofour goverment people.i realy have been looking at the 7 mm on the 300 winchester case for deer hunting in a custom 700 action.any one useing this round and what are you shooting in it?gary b

I used the 7mag in savage 111, had a custom break installed. I still have it, love it, it loves Berger classic hunter bullets bullets.
I have a custome 300wm also, never used it for deer but it would kill anything in N America.
It’s actually overkill for deer but if you only want 1 rifle for N America than pick either one.
6.5CM, 308,243 even 270’s make big presence at the range right now from hunters getting dialed in.

I believe the secret service has used this as a sniper cartridge before. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Not sure if it’s still being fielded. It’s not used in the military.

For a deer rifle, absolutely the 7 over a 300wm. Amazing ballistics, a little less recoil, less bloodshot meat, and enough power to kill a deer past 1000.
