We're guessing everyone has seen the new announcement from Hornady on the 7 PRC. We figured if you're starting to look at the caliber and are thus wanted to start thinking about possible loads, this article we did might be of help.

Our rifle liked the 68.5-69 grns of H1000 area with a 180 ELD-M and that 65 grns of H4831 SC with the same bullet.

Once you have you PRC list those loads!

There were some decent video releases today on 7 PRC.

gavintoobe 7 PRC overview video

Hornady podcast video 7 PRC overview

Long Range Only's overview video

I took some of the info from the gavintoobe review and picked some comparison points for each cartridge, just for fun.

Roughly speaking, the 7 PRC looks pretty efficient on paper. Time will tell if the brass life, barrel life, recoil, etc. all work as good as the math.
It sure looks like they got the case capacity and design length set up right for a good feed and good balance for 175 - 180 class bullets.
Now if we can get all the better brass makers to jump onboard then we will get to see how it turns out. YMMV

Only allowed to use Hornady projectiles in your discussions today 😀

the long range only is the best write up by far

thanks for sharing, i think this ia a good time to remind everybody that the 7mm-190 from both H and B have an extremely high BC that takes a huge 30 cal bullet to beat it, with a 26" bbl this is a great combo from a "factory" offering....yes, a lot of other calibers can do it via handloading, this is tough to beat from a factory offering.........edit: will 190's be offered in commercial boxes??? defeats my point if not....
