i need some 700 action screws. more specifically, for a 5R 308.

i really do not think the local hardware store will allow me to take the rifle to the hardware isle.

so, does anyone know the length and thread pitch?

Make it easy on yourself and save the gas and trips to multiple hardware stores and order you action screws from Brownell's or Midway. Here are the Brownell's links to Hex Head stainless BDL screws you need. Note: If you blast them a bit they'll match the 5R action perfectly.

If you wind-up bedding your 5R action into a different stock you might want this blued set, which is .250" longer to allow for greater depth between the action and the floorplate flange. They're not stainless but they can be trimmed and finished to length easy:

You can also contact Chad (Longrifles Inc) here on the board. He makes his own and I like them a lot more than the typical OEM. They are stainless with a really deep hex on them.
