No they aren't just watch a youtube video and have at it. The problem with those mounts is they are beholden to three points of contact and if your receiver is out of spec even slightly then the mount will be wonky no matter what you do.

I used a basset low picatinny with a dab of ceramic threadlocker to avoid all that noise. Worked great and never jammed.

I have an M1a that i need a Sadlak Airborne scope mount put on. I bought the Sadlak Mount last week after this recent batch they put out. I've watched the videos Sadlak and Tony Ben have put up on youtube to help aid us in mounting this scope mount on an M14 and I just dont think i can do it without majorly screwing it up. I want it done right and know i cant do it. I also dont want just any gunsmith doing this if they havent done it before. I need a dedicated gunsmith who knows the M14 and will install this specific mount correctly. I also need a gunsmith that is of 3-4 hours of Birmingham Alabama or Atlanta. I DON't want to mail my M1a off again. Too expensive and too easy for it to be damaged in transit. This time i will drive the gun to the gunsmith myself or not at all. Can anyone recommend this type gunsmith close to me in Birmingham Alabama ? i'm thinking the farthest would be 3-4 hours away from me.
They arent difficult to install but you first need to take a series of measurements to confirm/deny your receiver is in spec or not, as you have seen in Tony's vids. If you have a Springfield M1A receiver, chances are fair that it is not. If that's the case, you'll need to determine to what extent, record the measurements then send your mount off to Sadlak to be machined so it will fit/mate correctly to your receiver. That's the most difficult part of the entire process. Rest is easy.
