So I should be rebarreling my RPR soon here. I'm looking at 7mm-08 to be less of a barrel burner. Been through 2 6mm Creed barrels so far. This rifle is strictly a bench or prone rifle. Not running around with it. Want to do either 28-29" barrel for this new caliber. I want to launch 162-175gr projectiles out to 1400 yards. What twist rate would be best for this application?

I'd suggest looking into the 7mmSAW if you want to push the 160gr class of projectiles harder. I've had great results with mine using reloader 16, pushing 162gr ELD-Ms at 2865fps out of a 26 inch barrel. Even with the shorter freebore reamer you'll see 2800fps.

To answer your question, I'd run with an 8T barrel to run the heavies.

7 08 is a great round. Idd do 180 class bullets with 8 twist barrel
