7mm rem mag 1-8.4 barrel

Hello gents, I have two obermeyer barrels in 7mm 1-8.4 twist. I plan to chamber them in 7 mm rem mag, does anyone use 162 Amax or 168 bergers in this twist? Will this twist stabilize 162-180s? Thanks

1:9 is really all that's required for those bullets.

With an 8.4 twist, there isn't a 7mm bullet made you won't be able to stabilize.

My 7mmRM has a 1-8.5 and shoots the 162 AMAX really, really well.

Have you seen more velocity with the same loads as opposed to a 1-9 twist?

No.

Any difference would be so small it'd be undetectable amongst other factors unless you tested 10 barrels of each twist and did a statistical analysis.

Use your 8.4 obermeyer and be happy.
