Gunsmithing 7mm Rem Mag &300WM How short can I cut the barrel?

I'm ordering a suppressor for my 308, 300WSM, and 7mm Rem Mag, I have to get the 300WSM and the 7mag threaded. They currently are 26 inches and I've heard that I can cut them off to 22inches. They are going to be used for hunting and is 22 inches too short?

Youll probably loose around 50 fps per inch of barrel removed , maybe more or less but in that range. , I'm sure that a deer will never no the differance.

I've got a 28" Barrel in 7mm for my Encore that never gets used anymore , when I get some free time I might do an test and cut it back to 16" to see whats lost.
