7mm rem mag bullet

I'm between trying the hornady 162gr Eld match and the 180gr vld berger. The barrel is a 24" bartlein 1-9 twist. Going for long range 1k+ any info on where I should start or what to start with would be great

Mine loves the Berger 168gr VLD over H-1000 with Federal Match Magnum Primers.

Love shooting the 7mm Rem Mag.

I'm not a huge fan of the Berger's for long range hunting on bigger game (elk). I simply can't trust a frangible projectile at low energies. That being said, I would highly encourage you to limit your shots based on energy, not how accurate you can be.

Will a 1-9 twist stabilize the 180 gr VLD? I had good luck with 175 SMKs in a 1-9.25 twist 40X barrel in 7mm RM.

i have a lilja 9 twist and shoot the 180 hybrids and they seem to shoot darn nice out to a thousand yards. i don't think i would shoot an animal at a 1000 with it, the energy doesn't seem to be there.

My rifle likes 162 Amax over H-1000. I tried Burgers and Elds with no luck since I was running low on Amax, then found several boxes on GB for a steal.
