7mm rem mag

im toying with the idea of getting a 7mm rem mag,

what are the pros and cons of this round, i know ammo availability in ireland for this will be my first hurdle, it doesnt seem to be as common a calibre for long range shooting here also?

I use a 7mm Rem Mag for nearly all my hunting. Obviously I don't know the ammo availability in Ireland but it's probably the most common 7mag round out there. I've found it to be a very good overall caliber for putting venison on the table.

The pros is that it's a scream'in flat shooter. The cons are the recoil and ammo cost. For hunting it should be able to drop most of your game, even at long ranges. It's kind of like a 270 on steriods. If you like paper punching there are plenty of other calibers that would do the job cheaper with less recoil.
